  1. I concur with the researchers view that it may do so, but we need to do more studies urgently for the use of 'paleo' diets for diabetes and CKD. There is considerable evidence also that CKD can be halted or at least ameliorated by the use of sodium bi-carbonate;- http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21042013

Sadly 'Pharma' cannot benefit so it unlikely to become mainstream. And as for Diabetes UK input into the article; well they would say that wouldn't they? They have done little or nothing to change the paradigm for NIDDM because it would not benefit their coffers, regularly topped up by 'Pharma'.

  2. Thank you for that extra info, blackdog.

Yes, Diabetes UK's wetblanket comment:"Diabetes UK said it was "questionable" whether humans could sustain the diet" fits with their largely unhelpful dietary advice: http://www.diabetes.org.uk/Guide-to-diabetes/Healthy_lifestyle/Eating_Well/.

Compare their advice with Dr Briffa's GOOD dietary information for people with diabetes. See http://www.drbriffa.com/2010/07/27/diabetes-costs-out-of-control-and-why-this-is-no-surprise-given-standard-dietary-advice-for-diabetics/
